The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) on Saturday denied champion Liverpool the three valuable points in the Merseyside derby after overruling Jordan Henderson’s 92nd-minute winner at Goodison Park.
The Liverpool captain pounced on Sadio Mane’s pass and fired a shot that flew past Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
But the referee disallowed the goal after consulting the VAR on the touchline.
Mane opened the scoring for the Reds in the 3rd minute only for Michael Keane to level the score for Carlo Ancelotti’s side in the 19th minute.
