Opposition scout Ricardo Formosinho, analyst Giovanni Cera and fitness coach Carlos Lalin have all officially joined the Portuguese at Spurs.
National Sportslink understands that all three men used to work alongside the 56-year-old during his tenure at Old Trafford, departing in December 2018 following Mourinho’s sacking and replacing with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer..
Mourinho has also raided Lille for the 30-year-old assistant coach Joao Sacramento and goalkeeping coach Nuno Santos. Mourinho added 30-somethings Kieran McKenna and Michael Carrick to his United coaching staff following the departure of long-time lieutenant Rui Faria.
Santos and Formosinho both hail from Mourinho’s birthplace, Setubal, while Sacramento was born in Baracos. Lalin is Venezuelan and Cera Italian.
Mourinho’s long-standing goalkeeping coach Silvino Louro is conspicuous by his absence and the MEN understands Mourinho decided to cut professional ties with Louro, also from Setubal, following his dismissal by United in December. Louro was with Mourinho at Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Chelsea again and United.
Tottenham announced Mourinho would replace Pochettino on Wednesday morning after sacking the Argentine on Tuesday night.
On the appointment Daniel Levy said: “In Jose we have one of the most successful managers in football.
“He has a wealth of experience, can inspire teams and is a great tactician. He has won honours at every club he has coached. We believe he will bring energy and belief to the dressing room.”
However, Mourinho has reportedly signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Tottenham following Mauricio Pochettino’s departure. The Portuguese will face his former side on December 4 when United face Spurs in the Premier League at Old Trafford.
