There was pandemonium in the Lekki area of Lagos on Tuesday as soldiers opened fire on youths protesting police brutality in the area.
Eyewitnesses said one protester had been killed and several others injured in the attack.
The protesters, according to the eyewitnesses, were holding a peaceful rally when the soldiers arrived and started shooting sporadically.
The state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, had earlier on Tuesday declared a 24-hour curfew in a bid to tackle the violence that trailed the #EndSARS protest in the state.
