Mr Abidemi Majekodunmi, the new Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Akwa Ibom, has pledged commitment towards adequate protection of government critical infrastructure in the state.
A statement in Uyo on Monday by Mr Ukeme Umana, Public Relations Officer, NSCDC, Akwa Ibom Command, said Majekodunmi made the pledge when assumed duty in Uyo.
According to the statement, the command would work with the state government and other security agencies to ensure security of lives and property in the state.
“The new state commandant has appealed to members of the public to support the command with useful information to contain crimes in the state,’’ it said.

Majekodunmi who holds a Master’s degree in Crime Management and is the 12th NSCDC state commandant in Akwa Ibom, took over from Samuel Fadeyi, who had been redeployed to Cross River.
The statement added that the new state commandant had worked in different NSCDC commands across the country before being posted to Akwa Ibom. (NAN)
