The National Assembly Service Commission (NASSC) on Wednesday approved the retirement of the Clerk of the parliament, Mr. Mohammed Sani- Omolori, and 149 senior officers.
The Chairman of NASSC, Ahmed Amshi, who revealed this in a statement in Abuja, said the decision was reached at the 497th meeting of the commission held recently.
He added that new Conditions of Service which stipulated 60 years’ retirement age and 35 years of service for staff of the National Assembly were approved at the meeting.
According to him, any National Assembly staff who had already attained the retirement age or years of service would receive their letters soon.
The development was contrary to the resolution of both chambers of the 8th Assembly, which approved a new conditions of service for the management and staff of the parliament.
The conditions of service had extended the retirement age to 65 years or 40 years of service among others.
