The management of the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has announced a planned power outage in Imo.
Mr Emeka Ezeh, Head, Corporate Communications, EEDC, in a statement in Owerri on Friday, said that the outage would affect the Alaoji/Owerri 132KV Line 2 on July 18, from 8am to 4pm.
According to him, the Alaoji/Owerri 132KV Line 1 will also be out of electricity supply during the said period as an additional apparatus for a safe working place during the maintenance exercise.
“The management of Enugu Electricity Distribution PLC (EEDC), wishes to inform her esteemed customers in Imo State of the planned outage on Alaoji/Owerri 132KV Line 2, scheduled to hold on Saturday, 18th July, 2020, from 8am to 4pm.
“The outage is to enable the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) carry out maintenance work on Tower 68-70.
“Also, as an additional apparatus for a safe working space, the Alaoji/Owerri 132KV Line 1 will be out of electricity supply.
“This activity will affect all EEDC District Offices in Imo State, namely: Mbaise, New Owerri, Orlu and Owerri.
“As a result, the entire electricity customers in Imo State will be out of supply while the maintenance lasts,” he said.
He added that the EEDC regretted the inconveniences the exercise would cause its esteemed customers, while assuring that supply would be restored on completion of the exercise.
He also restated the EEDC’s unwavering commitment to the provision of improved services to customers. (NAN)
