The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan; and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, on Sunday met President Muhammadu Buhari on the ongoing nationwide protests against extortion and brutality by the now-disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
The SARS was disbanded by police authorities last week following the protests which entered its second week on Sunday.
The #ENDSARS protesters had rejected overtures from the Federal Government to end the protest and had demanded the total reform of the Nigeria Police Force.
The duo, who spoke to State House correspondents after the meeting with the president at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, appealed to the youths to stop the ongoing protests against the police tactical squad.
They said the government was working hard to meet all their demands.
