Bayern Munich on Friday night thrashed Barcelona 8-2 to qualify for the semi-final of this year’s UEFA Champions League.
In a one-sided encounter played in Lisbon, two goals each from Thomas Muller and Brazilian international, Phillipe Coutinho, condemned the Spanish giants to one of the heaviest defeats in its long history.
Poland captain, Robert Lewandowski, Ivan Perisic, Sergi Gnabry, and Joshua Kimmich were also on the score sheet for the Bavarian giants.
Barcelona’s two goals came from David Alaba (own goal) and Luiz Suarez.
Bayern Munich will meet the winner of the last quarter-final encounter between the English Premier League side, Manchester City, and Olympic Lyon in next week’s semi-final in Germany.
