The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State on Sunday expelled the lawmaker representing the Ese-Odo Constituency in the state House of Assembly, Success Torukerijoh, for alleged anti-party activities.
Torukerijoh was one of the nine lawmakers that kicked against the Assembly’s move to impeach the state deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi, last week.
The decision to expel Torukerijoh was taken during the meeting of party leaders held at the Ese-Odo local government area of the state Sunday morning.
The House leadership had earlier suspended the deputy speaker, Irioju Ogundeji, and one other lawmaker, Adewale Williams, over alleged misconduct during the impeachment proceedings.
After the suspension of the two lawmakers, the Majority Leader of the House, Jamiu Maito, resigned from the position.
