Award-winning Nigerian Gospel Music Sensation, Sammie Okposo, is dead. He died
Friday morning.
Sammie Okposo started his music career as a soundtrack producer for Nollywood
in 1992. He was well-known at that time in the small circle of Nollywood actors and
producers.
He later began to get more career flashpoints when he started the Sammie Okposo
Praise Party, a platform that brought many up-and-coming Nigerian gospel artistes
into the scene.
The Niger Delta-born music star was known for emboldening the gospel music scene
by taking his music away from the quiet confines of the church.
He released his first album Unconditional Love in 2000.
Okposo was the CEO of Zamar Entertainment and collaborated with many gospel
artists. His most recent album, Okposo was recently involved in a controversy after he
admitted he was involved in an extramarital affair.

He apologised to his wife, Ozioma, on his Instagram page on January 24, 2022, for his
infidelity after a lady known only as African Doll, accused him of impregnating her
and abandoning her.
The gospel musician told his fans that he would focus on restoration and seek
forgiveness.
