Neil Lennon has been sacked by Omonia Nicosia after seven months in charge.
The Cypriot club currently sit seventh in their domestic league table after poor start
to the season continued with a 1-0 loss to Nea Salamis on Tuesday night.
Omonia also suffered successive defeats to Manchester United F.C.
League recently, with the latest one coming on Thursday.
‘We inform you that we have agreed with Neil Lennon to stop our collaboration,’ the
club said in a statement on their website.
‘Unfortunately, the ongoing competitive instability and the significant losses of
points in the championship are the main reasons that made us decide to end our
partnership.
‘Mr Lennon has written his name in the history of Omonia and deserves the respect
and recognition of all of us. Our paths separate, but the memories of our
collaboration will unite us forever.

‘We sincerely thank Mr Lennon for his contribution and wish him every success in his
future career.’
Lennon was appointed by Omonia in March, signing a deal that would have seen him
through to the end of the 2023-24 season.
But the team have lost four of their seven league games this season and also sit
bottom of their Europa League group.
Omonia went close to earning an unlikely point at Old Trafford with an inspired
performance from goalkeeper Francis Uzoho.
But Scott McTominay struck in the third minute of injury time to seal a win for Erik
ten Hag’s United and eliminate Omonia from the competition.
Across two stints with Celtic, Lennon led the club to 10 major trophies, with
two league titles, two Scottish Cups and a League Cup in his second spell after
replacing Brendan Rodgers in February 2019.
