Chelsea Boss, Thomas Tuchel has told his one-time mentor Pep Guardiola: I’m no
fanboy. Tuchel has rejected any personal battle with Pep Guardiola despite having
the chance for a history-making fourth successive win over the Manchester City boss.
Chelsea manager Tuchel can become the first coach to inflict four defeats in a row on
City supremo Guardiola, when the sides meet in Premier League action at Stamford
Bridge on Saturday.
The hosts could create a six-point gap on Premier League champions City with
a victory this weekend, but Tuchel has been at pains to downplay the impact of the
managerial tussle. however, Tuchel remains respectful but far from overawed by ex-
Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss Pep, who is regarded as one of the greatest of all
time. Tuchel said: “Let’s just say he taught me lessons about football. I started with
the very first weeks with him at Barcelona.
“It was an honor to speak to him and have the chance to hear his beliefs
“Is it like I go home and the next day I am a different coach with my team? No. I am
not a fanboy! I am simply impressed.
