A top motorsport executive, Nathalie Maillet, and her partner have been killed by
her estranged husband in what police say was a double murder-suicide.
Nathalie Maillet was found dead at her Luxembourg home in the early hours of
Sunday morning alongside the bodies of another woman and a man, all with gunshot
wounds
GP Cat Gaskell has been missing since vanishing from her house in Fallow Grove in
Cambuslang at 7.55 pm on Saturday night.
A frantic search was launched and cops this afternoon released an update saying a
body was found this morning.
Locals desperate for her return shared the online appeals in the hope she could be
traced, as fears grew for her safety. But sadly she could not be found.
Now, tributes have been pouring in for the popular Glasgow medic.
Shattered pals paid tribute to the keen runner and rugby player, of Newton, near Glasgow.
Jane Gotts wrote on Twitter: “Tragic news — a beautiful soul who I knew and got on
with through the power and inclusion of sport.”
Graeme Stevenson said: “I am shocked and devastated. I will always remember Cat as
one of the nicest and kindest people I ever met in secondary school.”

Another wrote: “One of the most genuine people I have ever had the privilege of
knowing.” Formal identification is still to be done, but Cat’s family has been
informed. Cops say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
A spokesperson said: “Around 10.45 am on Monday, 16 August, officers searching for
the missing woman discovered a body in a wooded area in Newton, Cambuslang.
“Although formal identification has still to take place, the family of Catriona Gaskell
has been informed.
“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a full report will
be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.
“Ms Gaskell’s family has asked that their privacy be respected at this very distressing time.”
