Chelsea has accepted a £34m Roma offer for Tammy Abraham, The 23-year-old
Striker must now decide if he wants to join the Italian club, who are managed by
former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.
NSL Leanrt: Roma transfer chief Tiago Pinto is currently in London to do the deal
and a £34m bid has been accepted. The offer includes a ‘large’ buy-back clause that
could one day see Abraham return to Stamford Bridge.
Arsenal remains in the mix for the 23-year-old with Southampton and Atalanta also
linked with a move. It is said that Abraham wants to stay in the Premier League but
Italian media detail Chelsea’s preference that he moves abroad, so as to not
strengthen a local rival.
Jose Mourinho reportedly called the striker on Tuesday and was told that a decision
would be made in the following 48 hours.
Abraham fell out of favour at Chelsea midway through last season as Thomas Tuchel
replaced Frank Lampard as head coach and was left out of the squad for May’s
Champions League final, despite being fully fit.
The imminent arrival of Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan is set to push Abraham
further down the pecking order and all but end the possibility of him staying at
