”WAP’ rapper, Megan Thee Stallion becomes the second musician ever to star on the
cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit after Beyoncé‘s groundbreaking cover in 2007.
On Monday, Sports Illustrated revealed that the 26-year-old is one of three to appear
on its 2021 swimsuit covers. Starring alongside the “Body” singer are tennis star
Naomi Osaka and transgender model Leyna Bloom — each with their own, uniquely
beautiful, set of images.
“When I got the call that they wanted me on the cover, I was like, ‘Wha—? Me?’ And
to be the first female rapper on the swim cover makes it extra special. It feels
amazing!” Megan told People in an exclusive interview.
Thee first female rapper on the cover of @si_swimsuit,” she captioned the photo,
attaching crying face emojis (used to signify crying of joy). “I want to thank all the
strong women in my life who inspired me to love my body and live my best hot girl
life. It means the world to me to be on this cover.”
Megan’s fans are over the moon and are passionately praising the rapper — as well as
the beautiful pictures in the magazine — all over Twitter.
