United Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjær has confirmed that promising Manchester United youngsters
Hannibal Mejbri and Shola Shoretire have been promoted to his first-team squad. Shoretire, 17, has
been promoted to the first-team squad this week, with 18-year-old Mejbri set to join him
Mejbri arrived at United from AS Monaco in 2019, with a fee believed to be close to £10million suggesting
how highly the club rated the young French midfielder.
Nigerian forward Shoretire has been in stunning form for United’s U23s, and recently signed his first professional
deal with the Red Devils despite interest from a host of Europe’s leading clubs
First of all, the young kids – we’ve moved Shola up with us,” Solskjaer said on Friday. “Hannibal will join us and
we’ll keep them with us for a while.”I think it’s the next step in their development.
“We’ve just got to take the hit on them when they play in the reserves that they have to travel by themselves,
so they move into our bubble and I think that’s a nice step for them.
