Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, 73, has tested positive for coronavirus, the club announced on Tuesday.
Aged 73, the long-term Madrid supremo is in a potentially vulnerable age group for the virus but the
club has confirmed the positive news that he is currently asymptomatic and otherwise in good health.
Spain remains one of the hardest-hit countries by the coronavirus pandemic. Nearly three million cases of
Covid-19 has been confirmed with more than 59,000 deaths recorded.
Perez is also the chairman of the Spanish construction conglomerate ACS and its principal investor, holding
12.5% of the infrastructure giant’s capital.
