Liverpool in talks to sign Ozan Kabak from Schalke before transfer deadline
Liverpool are in advanced talks over the signing of Ozan Kabak, The defender would join on loan until the
summer, with Liverpool being obliged to sign him permanently from Schalke at the end of the season
Liverpool have already agreed a £2 million deal with Preston North End to sign defender Ben Davies,
and the 25-year-old is due to undergo a medical on Monday.
Jurgen Klopp’s side also came close to signing Marseille center-back Duje Caleta-Car but the French
club pulled the plug on the deal on Sunday evening as they are concerned about finding a replacement in time.

According to Sky Germany, Liverpool have now turned their attention back to Kabak and are looking to
sign the 20-year-old on loan with an option to buy this summer. It’s claimed that Liverpool are looking to pay a
loan fee of around £2.5m for the Turkey international.
Schalke, meanwhile, is open to letting Kabak leave but want to secure a replacement before their transfer
window closes at 6 pm in the UK. The Bundesliga club have held talks with Arsenal over the signing of Shkodran
Mustafi, and it’s understood that the Gunners are demanding a €2m (£1.7m) fee for the 28-year-old. Schalke and
Arsenal already have a good relationship after the Gunners agreed to loan Sead Kolasinac to the German side
earlier this month.
