Coleen Rooney ‘may have to delete Wagatha Christie post’ to settle row with Rebekah Vardy
Coleen Rooney made an 11th-hour offer to Becky to ditch their legal wrangle and avoid a High Court face-off.
Rebekah, 38, issuing her fellow WAG for libel over the social media post from 2019 in which Coleen claimed
her rival’s Instagram account was behind several stories that had appeared in the papers.
Jamie Vardy’s wife has vehemently denied being involved in the leaking of stories from Coleen’s page.
The pair were given until February 8 for mediation in a bid to avoid the case going to trial at the High Court.
A source said: “The accusation is still there for the world to see.
“If they are to shake hands and walk away then Coleen will need to agree to remove it — and that
it will never be repeated.” In her post in October 2019, Coleen said she set a trap to see who was leaking stories
from her private Instagram page.
She ended her statement with the line: “It’s . . . Rebekah Vardy’s account.”
Sources say the Wags’ legal teams are trying for a deal where neither has to say sorry.
They will also agree to pay for their own legal costs — which have now spiraled into six figures for each side.
Our source added: “Coleen has never wanted it to go to court and thinks the whole saga has dragged on way
too long. But the fact neither side will say sorry means there is still a lot to sort out.”
