Thomas Tuchel could be in charge of Chelsea for the Premier League clash with Wolves
Thomas Tuchel is the favorite to replace Frank Lampard at Chelsea and could be named the new Chelsea boss
before the blues face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday night in the Premier League.
Frank Lampard was sacked as Chelsea boss on Monday morning after a string of poor results in the Premier
League and a failure to get the best out of his expensive summer signings, Timo Werner and Kai Havertz.

It is no secret that Tuchel is set to replace Lampard, with the German former Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-
Germain manager likely to be unveiled on Tuesday. It would be an extremely busy start to his first job in the
Premeir League, but the Times reports that Tuchel is planning to be in charge for the visit of Wolves on
Wednesday evening.
First-team coaches Anthony Barry and Joe Edwards took training on Monday, but the session has been moved to
6 pm on Tuesday to allow for Tuchel’s arrival. He will be clear to go straight into the new job as long as he tests
negative for Covid-19, therefore avoiding an isolation period.
Tuchel has only been out of work for a month since leaving PSG after two-and-a-half years in charge
of the French capital. That spell saw him win two league titles,
the Coupe de France, and finish runner-up in the Champions League last season. Previously he spent two years
in charge of Borussia Dortmund after replacing Jurgen Klopp in the role. The 47-year-old is fluent in English and
has always been keen on a move to the Premier League so will be raring to go and look to rebuild Chelsea’s
season. He will be expected to get a tune out of his countrymen Werner and Havertz, which Lampard failed to do,
while he also worked with Christian Pulisic at Dortmund.
