Folarin Balogun sends message to Mikel Arteta after Arsenal’s FA Cup exit
Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun has made his thoughts clear following the Gunners 1-0 defeat to Southampton
in the FA Cup. Balogun sent a reminder to Arsenal fans and Mikel Arteta of his quality just minutes after the club
were dumped out of the FA Cup by Southampton on Saturday.
The 19-year-old’s contract situation remains an ongoing issue for the Gunners as he has entered the final six
months of his deal and has not yet reached an agreement over fresh terms.
Arsenal remain hopeful of securing a new contract but the forward has attracted interest from several clubs,
including Liverpool and RB Leipzig. Balogun delivered another impressive performance for Arsenal’s Under-23s
on Friday night as he scored a hat-trick in a 5-0 victory over Brighton.
The young striker shared a clip from his previous match on Friday evening, where he netted a hat-trick for the
U23 ranks. Issued on both Twitter and Instagram, the aim of the clip was more direct on the latter as it was
accompanied by a facepalm emoji. With Arsenal now out of the FA Cup, any debut for Balogun would have to
come in either the Premier League or the knockout stages of the Europa League
