Fosu-Mensah is out of contract at the end of the season but turned down the option of a new deal at Old Trafford
because he felt ‘undervalued’ by the terms offered
A source close to the player told the MEN that while Fosu-Mensah was sad to be leaving United he is ‘excited
to get a fresh start and show people what he is really capable of.’
Ajax and Hertha Berlin have also pursued Fosu-Mensah, out of contract at the end of the season,
Speaking last week manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted he expected Fosu-Mensah to leave the club in the
January transfer window. “I’m not sure if he will stay or if he’s going to take an option now,” Solskjaer said.
“He’s not played enough, so of course he’s been allowed to speak to clubs to leave now in January.
