Give me anything but not Mathematics, While growing up I hated mathematics but definitely not all the topics
there. I love topics like addition and subtraction.
How on earth do you expect me to find x and y when am not a police officer. If I become a doctor will I be asked
to find x and y? Most students are tired of finding x and y all the time because they don’t know how it relates to
School owners, teachers, and parents need to examine what a student need and how to apply it in their life.
It is not about giving out a scheme of work and teaching. You need to examine and explain how a subject and
topic is important to their lives with its application in real-life situations.
For example, some student believe mathematics add no value to their lives. This is not true. We live our lives
daily applying mathematics without knowing it some actions we take and the decisions we take are always
calculated. There are various ways we can apply mathematics in our lives.
📌 Mathematics helps us have better problem-solving skills.
📌 Mathematics helps us with our finances. But today we are going to be looking at just one way we can apply
mathematics in our lives.
📌Mathematics helps you have better problem-solving skills. Mathematics helps you think analytical and have
better reasoning abilities. Analytical thinking refers to the ability to think critically about the world around you,
on the other hand, reasoning refers to the ability and think logically about a situation.
Analytical and reasoning skills are important because they help us to solve problems and look for solutions.
If you can explain this to your children/student that solving problems makes them responsible and mature
beings, they will want to learn Mathematics.
