Chelsea keeper Mendy injured
Chelsea have been handed an injury blow with the news that summer signing Edouard Mendy has suffered
a thigh problem whilst on international duty with Senegal.
Mendy picked up the injury during a Senegal training session and has returned to London for assessment
by Chelsea’s medical team.

“The Senegalese Football Federation announced that Edouard Mendy has been injured.
following an injury to the right thigh that occurred during the training session on Wednesday,
October 07, 2020, a statement reads. Chelsea keeper Mendy injured, “Edouard Mendy has also left the group
this afternoon to return to his Club (Chelsea) where he will undergo
further examinations. “The Senegalese Football Federation wishes him a speedy recovery.
“He will be replaced by the young goalkeeper of the U20 national team, Boubacar Fall, who was regrouping
in Toubab Dialao
Blues boss Frank Lampard will hope Mendy can recover in time to face Southampton at Stamford Bridge in
his team’s next Premier League game on October 17.
Chelsea also faces Sevilla in their opening Champions League game and Manchester United in the Premier
League following the international break.
